In a 2006 People Magazine interview, Lance Bass came out and told the world he was gay. Bass stated, “I knew that I was in this popular band (‘N Sync) and I had four other guys’ careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything.” Bass goes on to say, “The thing is, I’m not ashamed – that’s the one thing I want to say. I don’t think it’s wrong, I’m not devastated going through this. I’m more liberated and happy than I’ve been my whole life. I’m just happy.”
Lance Bass was born May 4, 1979 in Laurel, Mississippi. Bass is best known as being the bass singer for the uber-successful pop boy-band, ‘N Sync. Bass also starred in the film, On the Line, which was released in 2001.
